Yesterday was supposed to be a big shoot day. I had everything prepared; cameras, lights, my team, my notes, and my heart ready for impactful conversations. But just when I thought the day was set, one of my guests had to cancel because of a family emergency.
I’ll be honest with you. My heart sank. I felt so sad. I even threw myself a mini pity party 😭. I had worked so hard to prepare, and in that moment, it felt like everything was wasted.
But here’s the thing about life; sometimes, even with our best planning, things don’t go the way we imagined. And that’s okay.
After a few deep breaths (and a whispered prayer), I remembered something so important: a canceled plan doesn’t mean a canceled purpose. God’s vision for me hasn’t changed just because a guest couldn’t make it.
So, instead of packing up and calling it a failed day, I decided to create what I could. I filmed behind-the-scenes content, shared encouragement, and ended up recording something new I hadn’t even planned for. And you know what? The day turned out good. God came through, like He always does.
Here’s what I learned (and maybe you need this reminder too):
✨ 1. Setbacks are not stop signs. They’re simply pauses or redirections.
✨ 2. You can always create with what you have. The vision doesn’t disappear because one part didn’t work out.
✨ 3. God is faithful. Even when things feel disappointing, He always makes a way.
So, if you’ve been feeling discouraged because your plans didn’t go the way you wanted; whether in business, family, or life — take heart. Your vision is still valid. The dream God placed in you is still alive. And He always comes through.
I’m walking away from this experience with a stronger faith and a reminder that showing up matters more than perfection. And I hope you walk away from reading this with fresh encouragement too.
“I am rooting for you.” 🌸
